GAINESVILLE, Ga. (June 24, 2014) – For the second year in a row, Stewart, Melvin & Frost was the overall winner in the local Georgia Legal Food Frenzy competition which raises money and collects food for the state’s regional food banks.
Stewart, Melvin & Frost was one of 23 law firms in Hall and Forsyth counties that collected donations for the Georgia Mountain Food Bank. In addition to winning the overall competition for the second straight year, it was the third consecutive year the firm led in monetary donations.
Stewart, Melvin & Frost’s food and monetary donations totaled 11,492 pounds of food. Attorneys Julia Greene and Jenifir Dimo led the project for the firm.
Local law firms’ collections provided more than 34,000 pounds of food to the Georgia Mountain Food Bank. Through monetary and food donations, 277 law firms and legal organizations from around the state raised the equivalent of 1,140,627 pounds of food, a 36 percent increase from last year.
All of the food collected has been donated directly to the regional food bank that serves each competitor’s community. Georgia Mountain Food Bank serves more than 61 partner agencies in Dawson, Forsyth, Hall, Lumpkin and Union counties.
