Nancy’s experience as a professor and student of literature and composition provided a sound background for her second career in law. As an attorney, she has developed expertise in legal research and written advocacy through staff attorney positions with the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals as well as the Georgia Court of Appeals. In private practice, Nancy employs her knowledge of appellate procedure and her research and writing skills to assist clients of Stewart Melvin and Frost as well as clients represented by attorneys outside the firm whose civil cases may require appellate review.

Of counsel with Stewart Melvin and Frost since 1996, Nancy provides counsel, research and drafting assistance to the firm’s transactional and trial attorneys. In her own practice, she represents family law clients in adoptions, paternity and legitimation actions, divorce, custody and child support modifications, and juvenile matters. One of the first attorneys in Hall County to undertake training as a collaborative law divorce professional, in 2022 Nancy enthusiastically joined as an attorney member of the growing Amicable Divorce Network, founded in 2019.  Its professionals offer reasonable people a child-focused, civilized, transparent, cost-effective and non-adversarial pathway to divorce without litigation.
