Stewart Melvin & Frost Partners Brown and Orkins Lead Residential Real Estate Division

GAINESVILLE, Ga. (March 2023) – Stewart Melvin & Frost partners Whitney Syfan Brown and Anna Adams Orkins are now leading the firm’s residential real estate practice.

The experienced, women-led legal team is taking a fresh approach to residential real estate while continuing to build on the firm’s longstanding relationships and its strong reputation with local real estate brokers, lenders, investors, business owners, and homeowners looking to buy, sell, or lease.

“As we transition in as the new residential real estate team, Anna and I want to honor the decades-old history of the firm’s real estate division while bringing a fresh, modern energy and expertise to the closing table,” Brown said.

Orkins and Brown plan to put their own stamp on the residential real estate division.

“Our combined legal experience and understanding of this wonderful community allow us to offer a comprehensive suite of services to meet our clients’ diverse needs,” Orkins said.

A Gainesville native, Brown has served on the board of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce since 2019. Brown is also presently serving as the Chairperson for the Chamber’s Vision 2030 Public Art Committee. She is a Leadership Hall County graduate in the class of 2018-2019. The Chamber awarded Brown a Silver Shovel Award in recognition of her work as Chairperson of the Vision 2030 Public Art Block pARTy in 2018 and 2019.

Orkins, a Dahlonega native, is a member of the Gainesville-Northeastern Bar Association, the North Georgia Estate Planning Council, the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, and the Fiduciary Law section of the State Bar of Georgia. She previously served on the Board of Directors for Lumpkin Literacy.

Brown, who joined the firm in 2017, will continue to serve clients in public finance, commercial lending, and commercial real estate.

Orkins has been named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers magazine for three years in a row since joining the firm in 2019, an exclusive honor recognizing no more than 2.5 percent of attorneys in the state of Georgia. She will continue to serve clients in the areas of Wills, Trusts, and Estates.
